Festive Q&As with Talina, Bethany and Holly!

Sassy & Dangerous

Hi everyone! First off, I just want to say thank you so much to Sophie for having me over on her lovely blog! This is my first time giving a guest post on someone else’s blog and I’m excited and nervous all at once, haha! A little bit about me...my name is Talina and I book blog over at Sassy & Dangerous. I’ve been blogging for over a year now and I will soon be expanding that over to booktube! I hope you enjoy the interview and feel free to stop by my blog anytime, because I love meeting new friends! :)

What sits on top of your Christmas tree?

From the time I could remember, we’ve always used a star on our tree. But after our move two years ago, the star no longer worked (we’ve had it for years!) and so we found a cute little angel and we now use that. :)

Favourite Christmas song?

I have so many! But I think the one that makes me feel really Christmassy is Home For Christmas by Maria Mena.

Favourite Christmas movie?

Another hard question, ahh! It’s definitely a tie between The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and the Santa Clause trilogy with Tim Allen.

Favourite festive foodie treat?

Definitely sugar cookies! I love making them every year and my family devours them like they’ve never seen them before, haha! :)

The best part of Christmas is…

Watching Christmas movies, baking Christmas goodies and spending time with the family! Oh, and let’s not forget opening those amazing looking presents! ;)

The worst part of Christmas is…

Getting sick! You have no idea how many times my family has gotten sick over the holidays. It is the absolute worst!

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

My best Christmas present? It was probably this huge collection of beads, strings, clay and a few other things for me to make my own jewellery. I was so addicted to making earrings and bracelets. I loved that gift! My worst? I kid you not when I say I’ve never gotten a bad present. My parents/siblings have given me quite a lot of awesome presents every Christmas and I loved them all!

When do you do your Christmas shopping?

I do my Christmas shopping a few weeks before Christmas Eve. Not too early, not too late. :)

Any Christmas Day traditions?

My family and I love to play Black Jack and Poker on Christmas Eve and then my dad will always read to Twas a Night Before Christmas. It’s definitely a favourite family tradition of mine. :)

Favourite Christmas book?

I cannot believe I’m saying this, but I don’t have one! I’ve Christmas books before, but I wouldn’t call them my favourite. I seriously need to change that ASAP!

Favourite Christmassy book cover?

I think my favourite Christmassy book cover would have to be Mistletoe and Mr. Right by Lyla Payne! It’s just so cute and I absolutely adore it!

Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?

I have so many books on my Christmas wish list, but I think the number one book that I want would be Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl! I am in love with anything Marvel, so if I ever get my hands on a copy of this book, I would die.

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?

I figured out there wasn’t a Santa at the age of 10. But, I never told anyone because I had a younger sister, and I wanted her to grow up with those memories that I had. But who knows...maybe there really is a Santa. ;)

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

That’s easy! With a warm cup of hot coco and a book! Preferably one with one of my many drop dead gorgeous book boyfriends! :)

That was such a fun interview! A huge thank you to Sophie for having me stop by her amazing blog! Happy Christmas in July everybody!

All Hallmark Movies :)

Don’t have one really, not a sweets person

The worst part of Christmas is…

After all the presents are opened - over too quickly

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

Best present - Homemade gifts from kids

Worst Present - Never really had one

I start my Christmas shopping in the summer!

Any Christmas Day traditions?

Pictures with santa, decorate gingerbread men

Favourite Christmas book?

Christmas at Gingerbread Café

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real?

I have no idea how old I was when I found out lol

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

With my boyfriend and our children on vacation :)

What sits on top of your Christmas tree?

We have a beautiful gold and white angel that we’ve had since I was a child. As soon as I see it, that’s when I know it’s Christmas.

Favourite Christmas song?

Definitely ‘All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth’. Not a classic, per say, but a dinner-lady at primary school always used to sing it to me and my cousin. That’s a memory that has always stuck with me.

Favourite Christmas movie?

Prancer/Prancer Returns. I love some of the newer ones too, but these two are so endearing that they always make me smile.

Favourite festive foodie treat?

Home made Christmas cookies!

The best part of Christmas is…

Spending time with family and friends. Bonus if it snows.

The worst part of Christmas is…

Obviously when it’s over and I haven’t read enough Christmas books!

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

Honestly I’ve had a lot of great presents, so I can’t really pick one that’s ‘best’. But I did receive around 13 books last Christmas, so that was awesome. I can’t really think of a worst one, although I do seem to get clothes that really just aren’t me on occasion.

When do you do your Christmas shopping?

I try to get started around the end of October, because I really love to get into a Christmas mood as soon as Halloween is done. Most of it’s done in November though.

Any Christmas Day traditions?

Not particularly. The only tradition we really have is to alternate Christmas’ between my mum’s side and dad’s side of the family. Christmas Day with one, Boxing Day with the other, and then we switch around the year after. We also alternate who cooks!

Favourite Christmas book?

I love Jenny Colgan’s Cupcake Café series, so probably Christmas at the Cupcake Café.

Favourite Christmassy book cover?

Definitely Jenny Colgan’s Christmas at Rosie Hopkins’ Sweet Shop! It just reminds me of everything to do with Christmas.

Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?

I’d say ‘Coming Home for Christmas’ by Jenny Hale.

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?

Of course he’s real ;)

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

I would spend the morning surrounded by family; enjoying great company while we eat, laugh, sing and exchange gifts. But then I would spend the evening curled in a duvet by a roasting fire, nose deep in a good book.
