Festive Q&A with Ellen Faith!

Hey Sophie! Can I just say what a pleasure it is to be on your lovely blog talking about Christmas, what a fabulous idea. I do love Christmas and was so excited to have a festive book released last year! This year I’ll have to catch up on everyone else’s festive reads which is very exciting for me. I’ll be keeping my eyes on your recommended reads for sure :)

What sits on top of your Christmas tree?

Usually a big old star haha I used to have an angel growing up but she looks a little worse for wear now; I’m not sure she’d last up there these days.

Favourite Christmas song?

Merry Christmas by Slade. It’s my ultimate fave!

Favourite Christmas movie?

Ach, I think I have to say Elf. I made my husband start watching it in September last year

Favourite festive foodie treat?

Gingerbread!

The best part of Christmas is…

The decorations. If I could have tinsel strewn all over my house all through the year I would.

The worst part of Christmas is…

Christmas shopping. Ugh, it’s a never ending trauma haha what to buy, then there’s the queues….it’s definitely the worst.

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

I don’t know what I’ve ever really had any bad Christmas presents, I’m usually quite lucky. I’ve had a few amazing Christmas presents though but I think the best present is getting to spend time with all my family, it’s nice to get together and spend the day with each other because it rarely happens.

When do you do your Christmas shopping?

I try to start in September but sometimes I lose track of time, like last year I ended up doing it in December. I was a donkey on the edge haha

Any Christmas Day traditions?

Going out for Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, I love doing that. We usually go out Christmas Eve too because it’s my stepdads birthday (how unfortunate, bless him)

Favourite Christmas book?

Oooo this is a toughie. Probably A Christmas Carol.

Favourite Christmassy book cover?

What, apart from my own ;) haha I can be fickle if I’m being honest, my favourites can change, but I still adore the I Heart Christmas cover.

Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?

Definitely Career Game by Louise Mensch. I love her work and cannot wait to read it!

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?

Santa is totally real ;) I questioned my belief in him around the age of 8, but now at 29, I know the truth. Santa lives on!

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

I think as I’ve got older I’ve learnt to appreciate spending time with my family so if we could all fly somewhere that would be full of snow and stay somewhere with open fires, drinking hot chocolates, making snow angels and just having fun together, I would LOVE it.
