Festive Q&As with Kelly and Lynsey!

What sits on top of your Christmas tree?

When I lived at home, there was always an angel at the top of tree but last Christmas was our first Christmas in our own house and because we only moved in a few weeks before Christmas, we had next to no decorations, so there was a star at the top. I don’t even know where it came from! But hopefully I'll get to buy an angel for the top this Christmas :D

Favourite Christmas song?

This is a weird one, because even though I absolutely love Christmas, I can't stand Christmas songs. Christmas time is spent with me zooming through music channels, trying to find a song that isn't Christmassy. I suppose Fairy Tale of New York is the only one I really like in any way at all, so I'm going to say that one :D

Favourite Christmas movie?

Too many to choose from! I adore Christmas movies. They really give a Christmassy feel, don't they? But I do have a favourite, and it has to be Home Alone! Gives a Christmassy feel, but also outrageously funny!

Favourite festive foodie treat?

I am such a fussy eater, so Christmas Cake, Pudding and Mince Pies are not for me! But I do love how you can eat any amount of Chocolate at Christmas and not feel guilty. Give me a nice Cadbury's selection box and I'm happy.

The best part of Christmas is…

Definitely the lead up to Christmas, when you go into the shops and there's such a nice festive atmosphere! Although who doesn't like opening the presents Santa brought???

The worst part of Christmas is…

Once the Christmas dinner is over with, the day seems to drag, nothing is open and there's nothing on television, and now that I'm too old to get toys for Christmas, I don't even have them to play with! Also the fear that every year the Big Freeze will return and we'll all have to spend the month of January locked up at home because it's just not possible to leave!!!

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

My best Christmas present is a hard one, because I've gotten so many lovely presents through the years! If I had to choose one though, I'd probably say my Pandora necklace, because it's the one I probably get the most use out of! My worst present ever is without a doubt cookie cutters! I adore baking, but I don't really do cookies!

When do you do your Christmas shopping?

Last year I started about 2 weeks before Christmas and finished it the day before Christmas Eve! Absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! This year we have a family wedding a few weeks before Christmas, so I plan on being very organised and starting my shopping asap, which I hope will mean I start it soon! But just wait until I'm running around like a headless chicken on December 23rd at 6 o clock in the evening because I still can't find a present for someone!!!

Any Christmas Day traditions?

Christmas is always the same for us! We have a pre-Christmas Christmas on Christmas Eve at my Grandparents house! Every year all of us will gather there and exchange presents and have a pre-Christmas dinner dinner! So that's out tradition, but it's Christmas Eve not Christmas Day!

Favourite Christmas book?

Something From Tiffany's by Melissa Hill! I adore that book and I read it every Christmas without fail! And the fact that A Diamond From Tiffany's is going to be out this Christmas is just too exciting for words!

Favourite Christmassy book cover?

I would probably have to say either The Perfect Present or Christmas At Tiffany's by Karen Swan! I love both covers probably as much as the books! I also love the Christmassy cover of The Charm Bracelet by Melissa Hill! The red and white one. Puts my in the mood for Christmas just looking at it!

Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?

Ooooh so many! A Christmassy book I want is, Just For Christmas by Scarlett Bailey. A non Christmas one is Summer at Tiffany's by Karen Swan, which carries on from Christmas At Tiffany's so it kinda counts, doesn’t it?? Ok, maybe not :D

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?

I actually can't remember being told that Santa wasn't real, and I can't think of an age when I knew he wasn't real either. But I do think I was probably eight or nine when I found out! Although, every year on Christmas morning there are presents under the tree even though I'm 22, so you never know ;)

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

At home, with my family, books and lots and lots of chocolate! And the odd bit of snow but not enough that we're snowed in! Just enough to build a snowman and really get in the Christmas spirit :D
