Festive Q&A with Mily (The YA's Nightstand)!

What sits on top of your Christmas tree?

We have a Christmas star that mum wraps fairy lights around so it glows blue. :)

Favourite Christmas song?

OMG you’re just trying to make my life hard okay I think it’s a toss up between Santa Baby and Merry Xmas Everyone.

Favourite Christmas movie?

Love Actually! I always watch it in December and in July just to keep Christmas going because it’s one of those films you can watch all year around. A little like The Holiday…. Jude Law…. YUM!

Favourite festive foodie treat?

Just the sheer amount of chocolate you can get away with eating!

The best part of Christmas is…

The lead up to Christmas day, going shopping for people pressies and decorating. The LIGHTS!!!

The worst part of Christmas is…

When it’s over.

Your best, and worst, Christmas present?

Haha my mum once got me a damn passport holder…. I don’t have a passport lol. She started the tradition of getting each other the most boring presents ever. We all try to get one in each year. BEST present… damn it Sophie! I’m going to go with the year I got my Cinderella dress and the Cinderella Polly Pocket castle. That was pretty epic.

Where do you do your Christmas shopping?

A lot of Amazon, just for practicality but also I love going shopping for all the little treats at Christmas.

Any Christmas Day traditions?

Hold onto your Christmas hats we have several.

Christmas morning we wake mum and dad up and mum goes down to see if Santa has been. Always has… until a couple of years ago, although that was more to do with the fact we just waited for the old folks to wake up.

The other big one was our presents (me and my brother) were always numbered with little clues on and we couldn’t open it until we’d at least tried to guess what it was. 1 was ALWAYS new pj’s which we had to put on before we got to open anymore. We don’t still do this but I like to make sure my parents both have the same amount of presents so that no one is left at the end without a present to open.

Favourite Christmas book?

I’m not sure I’ve ever actually read a ‘christmas book’ I’m actually ashamed of myself.

Favourite Christmassy book cover?

Christmas with Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher….. I will be reading this come Christmas time.

Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?

An Amber In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?

SOPHIE DON’T GO TELLING PEOPLE SANTA ISN’T REAL!!!!!

How would you spend your ideal Christmas?

Honstly? Probably the way I spend every Christmas just with snow.
