It's the beginning of a new term at Wyckham College, Oxford, and a fresh start for Lauren Cusack. Her fingers were badly burnt when a whirlwind romance with gorgeous English aristocrat, Alexander Hunt, became too hot to handle - and now she's determined to keep her distance.

Her resolve is shaken when Alexander appears on her doorstep - he's been completely torn apart by some devastating news. Lauren knows that she should stay away, but their chemistry is undeniable and she soon finds herself back in Alexander's arms.

Can Lauren handle the drama that comes with Alexander Hunt? Or will she have to sacrifice the most exhilarating passion she's ever known . . .

The Second Time I Saw You follows on from The First Time We Met although it can be read as a standalone. Lauren is beginning the new term at Oxford determined to move on from Alexander Hunt. Of course, Pippa throws us a great twist right at the beginning and Lauren’s intentions don’t come out as planned. I loved The First Time We Met and didn’t think it could get much better but I was so pleased it did.

This book is told from Lauren’s POV who gives us the perfect insight into her and Alexander’s steamy and chaotic relationship. Lauren is very likeable and Alexander, who at times felt a bit cold in the first book, is much easier to get into the mind of as he has developed a lot in this book. I liked how even though the story was told from Lauren’s perspective, we could still learn a lot about Alexander and see the more emotional side of him. I also loved the role Alexander’s sister Emma played in this book. Her relationship with Lauren was always set to cause some issues for Lauren and Alexander since teenage girls are never that easy to handle…

The journey in this book was a bit of a rollercoaster ride and I loved all the little twists. The pacing was great, helping me become totally gripped in Lauren and Alexander’s story and then when it ended… I just love how the author builds everything up throughout the whole book and then surpasses herself with an even better ending. Of course I’m now itching to get my hands on the next novel but then that’s a skill in itself… Pippa has written an enthralling plot and some great characters – characters you can almost see in real life and make relations to. The Second Time I Saw You was a wonderful, addictive book and I can’t wait for more.
