Firstly, I'd like to thank the lovely Sophie for having me on her blog to chat about summery books! Summer is the perrrrfect time to be lazy in the garden and get stuck right into a good book. With the sun warming your legs, a cocktail in your hand and your nose in a book – WHAT could be better? So I thought I'd share my top 5 books which I personally think you should read this summer. Summery books to me don't only mean they have to be set on the sandy beaches of Spain – they can also be bright and uplifting which is what some of the ones I've gone for are. Enjoy!
This is THE cutest and most heart-warming book I read last year. It's so easy to read and will have your heart soaring. Set in the beautiful Willow Cottage The Guestbook is written in diary entries from the guests who stay at the cottage for their holidays. Some good, some bad and some downright hilarious.
My all-time favourite book and you can't get much more summery than this. Set in Thailand, amongst the busy streets of Bangkok and the tropical beaches of Koh Phi Phi this book really does take you on a journey half way around the world. Although it's not all sunbathing and cocktails, it takes you deep into the life and mind of a young traveller who just wants to find paradise.
A hilarious account of 30 something Charlie Mansell who after a rough break-up from his girlfriend, gets whisked off to Mali – the party capital of Greece by his friends to try and lift his spirits. But they're not 18 any more and it shows and the holiday of a lifetime soon becomes a holiday from hell.
Although not really your uplifting, light-hearted, summer beach read, The Boat captures life on the sea in the middle of summer in Turkey beautifully even if the situation you find yourself in is far from it.
A Jersey Affair is set mainly on the beautiful island of Jersey and will instantly make you want to pack your bag and go there. Georgina also whisks away a little bit further to Italy during the book so you're never stuck with the same scenery. Fantastic book with romance, drama and gorgeous locations.

I'm thrilled to see A Jersey Affair in Jenny's top five books to read for the summer. Many thanks!
