When 29-year-old Flora Robson reversed her car into Tom’s Audi she had no idea who he was. Only after she has started to fall in love with him does she discover the gorgeous blue-eyed Tom is the man who is trying to close down her hairdressing business. It seems that Tom will stop at nothing to get what he wants, but Flora is not giving in to anyone.

Can she win the battle against her multimillionaire enemy or will her feelings for him get in the way? Follow Flora’s hilarious journey of love, hot chocolate and marshmallows, and the man who changes everything.

I have not previously read anything by Lynda Renham but was drawn in by the wonderfully beautiful pink cover and the blurb for this romantic comedy and was thrilled to find that the contents inside more than matched the lovely fun and flirty cover.

Flora Robson is dreading her thirtieth birthday as although she has been with her sensible boyfriend Luke for two years, he shows no signs of proposing and she has romantic visions of being engaged at 30. She is also having work problems as Rory’s a big supermarket are interested in buying her hairdressing salon so that a new supermarket can be built. Flora does not want to lose her business so decides to come up with a campaign to stop this from happening. On top of all this she reverses into the bumper of a car belonging to a devastatingly good looking man called Tom who makes Flora start to question her whole relationship with Luke.

This was a wonderfully engaging and fast moving story and I adored the character of Flora with all her endearing quirks and there were several laugh out loud moments in this book especially one involving a tube of muscle freeze that is mistaken for a tube of KY Jelly :) It wasn’t all laughs though as the secenes involving a protest that Flora organises rapidly descends into anarchy and the author cleverly portrays how something so innocent can turn into something terrifying when some rogue protestors storm Rory’s supermarket and the police start arresting the crowds.

The romance in the book is lovely and sweet and I enjoyed how Flora was gradually made to see how the relationship she is in with Luke is not right for her and how she eventually realises that the spark and excitement she feels for Tom are something that she needs in her life. Flora is also surrounded by funny and supportive friends, my favourites included Ryan and Sandy.

This is a fabulously fun flirty read filled with comedy, romance and two main characters who you are vying to be together right from when they first meet. This definitely won’t be my last book by Lynda Renham!
