You have to take a risk to live an adventure.

Determined, capable, and primed to rock her first big marketing conference, Stacy Saunders is not about let to anything get in the way of her ambition. It's been a long time since she's been in New Orleans, but she has no use for beads or Bourbon Street. She built a strict itinerary for this trip – one that certainly didn't include running into the gorgeous Tennyson Landry again.

A chance reunion between the former lovers brings old feelings to the surface and the possibility of rekindling old flames. Their second time around could be the best time of all – if they can bridge the gap even wider than the thousand miles between them…

Thanks for joining us, Lisa!

Hi, Sophie! Thanks so much for having me over!

What can you tell us about your latest release, Her Perfect Lips?

It is a reunion romance set in New Orleans. Ten and Stacy haven’t seen one another for about five years, but when they randomly run into each other on Bourbon Street, they find that the spark they once shared might not have diminished over time.

I loved the development of Stacy and Ten’s backstory in Her Perfect Lips – what was your favourite aspect of the novella to write?

Thank you! Honestly, I think it was being able to write about New Orleans, being there in my mind and reliving all my wonderful memories of that place. I love New Orleans, the French Quarter especially, and to be able to use it as a setting was just fantastic.

What do you think are some of the most important aspects of writing romance, to make the reader buy into the connection and the feelings between the characters?

I really have no idea. I just write from my own heart, try to stay true to my characters, and hope that people enjoy them as much as I do.

You’ve released several books now. Has the publication day feeling changed a lot for you with that, or is it still just as nerve-wracking/exciting as ever?

It never gets old! I love publication day. It’s always exciting and wonderful.

Do you have a favourite of your books, or a favourite character from your books? Is that as difficult to choose as it sounds?

That is an impossible question! It’s like asking a parent to pick their favourite child. At the moment, I’m totally in love with Ryan, the hero from A Kiss in the Dark, the next book in the Midnight Kiss series, but only because I’m working on the edits and thinking about him a lot right now. Don’t tell the others though!

You write a lot of novellas – what’s the appeal in them for you from a writing perspective?

I’m not a wordy person it seems. I can’t seem to spin out long tales, though I love to read long, epic stories. Novellas keep everything tight and focused, and I guess I’m just a very concise kind of girl!

What are you working on at the moment?

Like I mentioned before, I’m in the final editing stage of A Kiss in the Dark, the third book in the Midnight Kiss series. Ryan is a web programmer and amateur boxer, and Grace is a cozy mystery author in need of a website. I really love how they connect. They are very sweet together, but also very much there for one another. I can’t wait to get a publication date for it!

Have you read any books lately you’d like to recommend?

I’m a huge, HUGE, fan of Stephen King and I think everyone should read Revival immediately!
