The Boy at the Beach is book two in The Meet Cute series. It will be published by Harper Impulse on November 5, 2015.
Thanks to Katey for sending me a copy of this book to review.
I loved the first book in Katey Lovell’s Meet Cute series and so I couldn’t wait to read the next one – The Boy at the Beach. I liked how, though similarly cute and smile-inducing, this was a whole different type of meet-cute to the first one. Lauren and Toby were meeting for the first time, but they knew each other from online, and it was so sweet! I was wondering if they would both feel different meeting in person rather than through the internet – and Katey gave me just what I wanted to read.
The Majorca setting was the ideal setting for a bite-sized escapist read. Katey had me dreaming of bright blue skies, a golden beach and some sunshine whilst in reality, I was snuggled up in a blanket trying to escape from the cold.
The setting was beautiful but it was the characters that stole my attention. I loved the dynamics between Lauren and Toby – it was more like they’d known each other for ages. I would have liked a tiny bit more of them actually meeting rather than what happened leading up to the meet-cute, but that’s just me being greedy because I loved their chemistry. The Boy at the Beach was another romantic, feel-good story by Katey with a lovely ending that made me sigh with happiness.

A dreamy setting and a heart-warming ending
