Top tips from Mum and Oma
1. A cup of strong coffee and a slice of home baked cake provides the perfect backdrop for a chat – both serious or frivolous.
2. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
3. Channelling creativity such as writing, sewing, drawing or quilting can help even the most addled minds. The sense of personal satisfaction at finishing a hand made piece is immense.
4. Baking is balm for the soul while simultaneously creating a path to others hearts!
5. Cherish the good times and appreciate the fun while it’s happening. Accept the bad times and leave them where they belong – in the past.
6. Life is a gift, it’s the most precious commodity in this world. It should never be taken for granted.
7. Happiness is a choice, we always have a choice, even if some times it doesn’t seem that way.
8. Friends come and go, family will always be there.
9. Be kind to yourself. After all if you aren’t why should anyone else bother?
10. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. Most actions and emotions are contagious.
