What sits on top of your Christmas tree?
We have three stunning loo roll, pipe cleaner, litter and paper doilie angel creations that the kids made when they were little. The kids are now 15 and 19…

Christmas Vacation, closely followed by Elf, Muppets Christmas Carol, Nativity, Home Alone, Deck the Halls…
Favourite festive foodie treat?
Crikey, how much space are you planning to give me? Ok, I’ll limit this to a few treats simply because I can’t stick to just one. Homemade sausage rolls and mince pies, pigs in blankets, smoked salmon and stilton.
The best part of Christmas is…
I love everything about Christmas so this is another tricky question! Aside from the feasting, decorating and spending time with family and friends, I’m going to say that moment when you know you have found the perfect present for someone.
The worst part of Christmas is…
There is no worst part!
Your best, and worst, Christmas present?
I’m always lucky on the present front and can’t think of anything I’ve really disliked. I think my best ever present was my contract from Simon and Schuster which arrived last year and has meant that every day since has felt like Christmas!
When do you do your Christmas shopping?
I love Christmas shopping and begin fairly soon after I go back to the day job in September. I like to have it all wrapped up (literally), by the end of the first week of December so I can enjoy the festivities in full.
Any Christmas Day traditions?
Not all that different to anyone else I guess, but we are set in our ways when it comes to present opening. Sacks are rifled in the morning and everything else enjoyed after lunch.
Favourite Christmas book?
A Christmas Carol by Mr Dickens. I read it every December.
Favourite Christmassy book cover?
To be honest anything featuring snow and glitter! Trisha Ashley has had some real corkers.
Book sat at the top of your Christmas in July wishlist?
Not usually one to go for a historical read, but thanks to lovely Aidan Turner I’m rather hoping for a bit of Ross Poldark in my stocking this year!
When did you find out Santa wasn’t real? Or is he real?
Of course he’s real! We tracked him across the sky last year. We’ve seen him. He’s real.
How would you spend your ideal Christmas?
Exactly the same as every other Christmas; at home with my family, eating, drinking and making very, very merry!
Cupcakes, crafting and love at The Cherry Tree Cafe...
Lizzie Dixon's life feels as though it's fallen apart. Instead of the marriage proposal she was hoping for from her boyfriend, she is unceremoniously dumped, and her job is about to go the same way. So, there's only one option: to go back home to the village she grew up in and to try to start again.
Her best friend Jemma is delighted Lizzie has come back home. She has just bought a little cafe and needs help in getting it ready for the grand opening. And Lizzie's sewing skills are just what she needs.
With a new venture and a new home, things are looking much brighter for Lizzie. But can she get over her broken heart, and will an old flame reignite a love from long ago...?
