Chocolate…the most irresistible temptation?

The Gingerbread Café is all a buzz! This Easter, Lily and the rest of the town of Ashford, Connecticut are planning a truly decadent Chocolate Festival. Cooking up a storm, CeeCee and Lily are not just baking a batch of their sinfully delicious chocolate-dipped gingerbread men, but an excess of chocolate truffles, squidgy, cinnamony hot cross buns and melt in your mouth chocolate eggs. The Gingerbread Café staff have definitely enjoyed the tasting process!

Add in Damon’s cute-as-a-button seven year old daughter, Charlie, up for a visit and Lily’s perfect Easter may just be around the corner. Until her ex-husband Joel turns up demanding twenty thousand dollars… Suddenly the future of the Gingerbread Café is not so clear…and Lily finds herself eating far more of The Gingerbread Café’s treats than her skinny jeans allow…

Can Lily concoct a brilliant plan to save her beloved café, convince Damon she has no feelings for Joel and still throw a Chocolate Festival the town will be talking about for years? There’s only one way to find out...

I completely adored the first book in the Gingerbread Café series, Christmas at the Gingerbread Café, and was only hoping that this next instalment would be just as good. But wow, Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Café was so much better! Rebecca blew me away with this fantastic novella and I absolutely loved it.

Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Café saw the return of some brilliant characters from book one. I loved Lily and CeeCee previously but their characters just went from strength to strength in this book. CeeCee won me over even more and I loved how she was such a great friend. Her care and loyalty was really heart-warming and community spirit was a really lovely aspect in this book.

I was so pleased Damon was back too! My latest book boyfriend conquest and I’m definitely not letting him go easily… His daughter Charlie was a complete sweetheart too and always brought a smile to my face. She was really cute and I loved her relationships with CeeCee and Lily.

Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Café had a few twists but I love Rebecca’s writing because everything flows perfectly rather than over-dramatic scenes being thrown in for the sake of things. Joel was the main cause of the problems in Lily’s life and I did kind of just want to cave his head in…

I can’t finish my review of this book without mentioning all the chocolate! There was literally chocolate everywhere and for a massive chocaholic like myself, this was driving me insane with cravings. Rebecca’s descriptions were so vivid. Not only does she set and describe every scene in a gorgeous manner, she takes you on the journey with the characters so you can virtually see everything unfold and taste the chocolate yourself! I just can’t get enough of this fab series.
